PATTEN and NEWPORT, N.C. – Hildred “Arlene” Bossie, 64, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at her residence in Newport, N.C. She was born Dec. 8, 1940, in Patten to Ernest and Edith Boynton Mrs. Bossie was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She worked with Newport Elementary School, then at NOAA on Piver’s Island. She retired with the Civil Service in 2001. Arlene was active in her community throughout her lifetime. She loved her grandchildren, family, friends, and working in her numerous flower gardens. She tried to take care of so many of us and will be dearly missed. Arlene is survived by her husband, Rodger Bossie; son, Garth Bossie and wife, Maureen, of Newport, N.C.; daughter, Cheri Seronick and husband, Ken of Goldsboro, N.C.; stepson, Ricky Bossie and wife, Kathy, of Connecticut; sister, Alma Garner and husband, Joe of Mill Creek, N.C.; grandchildren, Allison and Elizabeth Bossie of Newport, N.C., Taylor Bossie of Connecticut, and Corey and Jade Seronick of Oxford, N.Y. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, William Bossie. Services will be held Sunday, Dec. 12, in North Carolina. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Munden Funeral Home.
