PATTEN – Hillary Glidden, 82, loving husband, father and brother, son of the late Leo and Ada (McKenney) Glidden, went home to be with the Lord Feb. 28, 2005, at a Patten healthcare facility. He was born March 6, 1922, in Mount Chase. He is survived by two sons and six daughters, Gary and his wife, Kathy, of Patten, Donald and his wife, Angela, of Bangor, Janice and Mel Armstrong of Cheshire, Conn., Nancy and her husband, Charles Emery of Southington, Conn., Valerie and her husband, Rodney Nightingale, of Stockton Springs, Rachel and her husband, Donald Boone, of Patten, Helen and Gerard LaMay, of Lewiston, Ingrid and her husband, Kerry Stanchfield of Gardiner; daughter-in-law, Connie Sibley Glidden of Bristol, Conn., 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, Delmont Glidden of Mount Chase; three sisters, Marjorie Gerow of Bath, Geraldine Craig of Patten, and Edwina Glidden of Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Janet (Ambrose) Glidden; a son, Ronald Hillary Glidden; brothers, Alistonand Duane; sisters, Lorraine and Thelma. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Crystal Wesleyan Church, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Peter Main officiating.
