EAST MACHIAS – Hollis I. Clark Sr., 74, died March 17, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 23, 1929, at East Machias, the son of Calvin P. and Esther M. (Willigar) Clark. Hollis and his wife, Joyce, owned and operated Clark’s Pet Shop for 30 years. He was very active in the East Machias River Day’s committee for many years. He served in armed forces from 1951-1953. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce (Lindsey) of East Machias; one son, Hollis I. Clark Jr. and companion, Susan, of Hampstead, N.H.; sisters, Marie Clark and husband, Warren, of Portland, Winifred Gardner of Meriden, Conn., Jennie Griffin and husband, Clyde, of Bristol, Conn.; a brother, Calvin Clark and wife, Gerry, of Knox; mother-in-law, Helen Foster of East Machias; brother-in-law, Richard Lindsey of Portland; sisters-in-law, Nancy Smith and Florence Wood; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church, East Machias, with Pastor Willliam Holmes officiating. Interment will be in the Jacksonville Cemetery, East Machias.
