SOUTHWEST HARBOR Inez Ellen Smith, 92, died Sept. 16, 2006, at a Mount Desert Island health care facility. She was born June 16, 1914, in Stillwater, the daughter of Frederick M. and Alma B. (DeWitt) Willey. In her early years she enjoyed her camp at Branch Pond and her cribbage games. Her friends and family were special to her and she appreciated their visits when she was at Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center. Inez is survived by a daughter, Rosalind Hodgdon and husband, Ben, of Tremont; three sons, Reginald Smith and friend, Lucille Frost, of Tremont, Richard Smith and wife, Julie, of Chickasha, Okla., and Reynolds Smith and friend, Eleanor Fortenberry, of Trenton; several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Smith. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Woodbine Cemetery, Ells-worth. Those who desire may make contributions in Inez’s memory to the charity she requested, the Southwest Harbor Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 434, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679 where she got her dog, Tuffy.
