CORINTH – Ione A. Smith, 91, died Nov. 25, 2003, at a Bangor Nursing Home, after an extended illness. She was born May 3, 1912, in Weston, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Read) Gellerson. She was a graduate of Higgins Classical Institute, Class of 1928. She is survived by two sons, Everett Hill of Corinth, and Gerald Hill of Bucksport; two daughters, Eleanor McLaughlin of Corinth, and Norma Nasset of Salem, Ore.; five sisters, Aura Robinson of Portland, Stella Smith of Elliot, Olive Burleigh of Conn., Ardis Joslyn of Brewer, and Phyllis Clark of Glenburn; a brother, Ronald Gellerson of Clearwater, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Ione was predeceased by three husbands, Aubrey Hill, James Noble and Clifford A. Smith lll; and four sisters, Doris Bodge, Violet Dunham, Nina Carbone and Freda Rose. Graveside funeral services for will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth, with Rev. Carl R. Smith officiating.
