LEVANT – Irene A. Montgomery, 82, died Sept. 30, 2006, at her Levant home. She was born June 8, 1924, in Bangor, the daughter of Alvin and Isora (Wahl) Harris. Irene served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany and then returned to Washington, D.C., where she worked in the Pentagon until her retirement. She then returned to Levant to take care of her mother. She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Alvin J. Harris Jr. and Betty of Levant and William E. Harris and Geraldine of Sarasota, Fla.; one sister, Beryle Hutchinson of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Shelly D.
