CORINTH and STORRS, Conn. – Irene C. (Curtis) Klunz, 89, died Oct. 10, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 6, 1917, in Granby, Conn., daughter of Clyde and Etta (Johnson) Curtis. Irene was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed going to yard sales and was formerly active in many civic organizations. She worked for many years as a psychiatric aide at Mansfield State Training School, Connecticut, and after her retirement she lived in Bolton, Conn., Corinth and Ossipe, N.H. Irene is survived by three daughters, Millicent Lussier and husband, Robert, of Grand Island, Fla., Bonnie Maguire and husband, James, of Corinth, Karen Giglio and companion, Franklin MacDonald, of Center Ossipe, N.H.; several grandchildren, great-grand-children, and great-great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and great-great-stepgrandchildren; many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter L. Klunz in 1967; two sisters, Marjorie Madsen and Thelma Turosky; brother, George Curtis; grandson, Jerry L. Maguire. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, Conn., with visitation 1 p.m. until time of service.
