IRENE D. NADEAU HOUSTON, Texas and VAN BUREN – Irene Dubay Nadeau, 65, left this life to join her Lord and Savior Sept. 16, 2005. She was born April 2, 1940, to Roy Bernard Dubay and Jeanne Marie Beaupre, in Van Buren. Irene grew up in Van Buren, and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s College, Class of 1962. Her life’s work was dedicated to teaching. Through her career she touched many lives and made many longtime friendships. She retired from teaching in 1999. Irene was graced with the ability to make everyone feel special and loved. She kept her life focused on her relationship with God, family, and the many friendships she established, from her travels throughout the country. Irene loved the arts, and enjoyed reading, music, nature and traveling. Her favorite flowers were Lupine and Texas Blue Bonnet. Irene will be remembered for her magnetizing personality and smile. She was a devoted and loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Irene is survived by her daughter, Michelle Hardeman and husband, Hubert, and their children, Heather and Michael of Helena, Ala.; and her son, Marc Nadeau of Cypress, Texas; sisters, Jacqueline Hunsader and husband, Lt. Col. Thomas Hunsader of Amherst, N.H., and Bernardine Quartuccio and husband, Charles, of Millinocket; brothers, LeRoy Dubay and wife, Louise, of Bangor, Steve Dubay and wife, Sallie, of Hampden; special aunt, Sue West of South Windsor, Conn.; many loving nieces and nephews who were an important part of her life; and many best friends, too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her parents in 2003. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 70 Western Avenue, Hampden, with the Rev. Bob Vaillancourt, pastor, celebrant. Interment will be by her parents in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alabama Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3840 Ridgeway Drive, Birmingham, AL, 35209, in Irene’s memory.
