BAILEYVILLE – Isabel Mae Welton, 90, passed away Friday, April 15, 2005, at her home in Baileyville. Isabel was born April 17, 1914, in Baileyville, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Ida (Lewis) Blackmore. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter “Spot” Welton; and her only son, Donald; two sisters, one brother, and a stepbrother. She is survived by two loving daughters, Evelyn “Spot” Thornton and Marion Welton both of Baileyville; three granddaughters, Candy Robb and her husband, Phil, Terri Wormell and her husband, Paul, all of Baileyville, and Gail Dimarco and her husband, Dennis of Connecticut; one grandson, Roger; and seven great-grandchildren. Isabel worked for Wareknitters for many years and after retiring spent her time sewing, cooking, and reading. Her favorite pastime spending time with her immediate family. Isabel was also a member of W.T. Wren Post No. 23 American Legion Auxiliary in Baileyville. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 18, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the funeral home with Pastor Bernie Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in the spring.
