NEWPORT – Isabella C. Pinkham, 96, went to be with the Lord Nov. 6, 2005. She was born Oct. 1, 1909, in Richmond, a daughter of Lineus and Marjorie (Cunningham) Colby. She married John Pinkham in 1931, and they moved to Newport that year. They enjoyed hunting and fishing and she enjoyed cooking and caring for her pets. Isabella was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Pittsfield and the Newport Senior Citizens Club. She was predeceased by John in 1978; three sons, John Jr. in 1932, Wilber in 1936 and Bernard in 1952. She is survived by two daughters, Esther and husband, Fred Temple, of Palmyra and Julia “Judy” and husband, Robert Herring, of Cundy’s Harbor; a son, Maurice of Newport; a brother, LeRoy Colby of Wiscasset; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport, followed by a graveside funeral service at Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
