ROCKVILLE and SARASOTA, Fla. – Isabelle L. Jillson, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, in Florida. Born May 19, 1916, in Rockland, she was the daughter of Earl and Jannie Tibbetts Choate. Before retiring in 1982, she was the first clerk of the Rockland District Court for 17 years. She was also administrative secretary in the secretary of state’s office for 25 years. Isabelle was honored by the Maine Legislature for 42 years of service to the state. Isabelle was predeceased by her first husband, Alton “Bill” Knowlton; her second husband, Charles D. Jillson; a sister, Edith Wallan; a brother, Richard Choate; and a daughter-in-law, Dolores Knowlton. She is survived by a son, William J. Knowlton of St. George; two stepdaughters, Dr. Ann Jillson of Preston, Conn., and Marcia Jillson of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be announced in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockville Community Chapel Association, care of Martha Morrison, 5 Gurney St., Rockport, ME 04856. Local arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland.
