BELFAST – James H. Lenfest Sr., 93, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at a local health care facility. He was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Swanville, the son of Charles and Flora (Hall) Lenfest. Jim was a farmer and woodcutter and loved his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice; a sister, Harriett; and a brother, Elden. James is survived by his children, James Lenfest Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Swanville, Elden Lenfest and wife, Sandra, of Waldo, Beatrice Grant of Florida, Patricia Howie of Belfast, Carolyn Smart and husband, Earl, of Lamoine and Darlene Larrabee of Belfast and Alice Robbins; two sisters, Alta Brown of Morrill and Mary Ward of Belfast; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast where a funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 31. The family expresses a special thank you to the staff of Tall Pines for all of the help and compassion they showed the family.
