CARIBOU – Ivey K Parker, 85, beloved wife of Floyd C. Parker, died Dec. 5, 2005 at a Caribou healthcare facility after a long illness. She was born March 11, 1920, at Caribou, the daughter of Albert and Annie (Searles) Holmes. A lifelong Caribou resident, Ivey worked at the various area potato processing plants throughout her working life. These included Birdseye for 25 years, American Kitchens and McCain’s Foods. She was a devoted member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church of Caribou. Ivey always placed the needs of family and friends above her own. She loved spending time with family, especially her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and anything to do with the outdoors. She was a prolific knitter, knitting not only for her own family but also for various charity projects. For more than 10 years she was active in the Golden Girls social group, which met weekly in the Caribou area. She is survived by her usband of 62 years of Caribou; and by two brothers, Bernie Holmes of Caribou, Edward Holmes of South Berwick; a very special sister, Eunice Thompson of Corinth; two grandchildren, Penny Bernard and her husband, Joe, of Fort Fairfield and Todd Parker and his wife, Sherri, of Woodland; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and KayLee Parker of Woodland and Jonah Bernard of Fort Fairfield; a devoted daughter-in-law, Patricia Parker of Caribou; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Lloyd Parker in 2003 and Dana Parker in 1954; four brothers, Oran Holmes, Zen Holmes, Osam Holmes and Ivory Holmes; two sisters, Octavia Leavitt and Sylvia Holmes Family and friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Anne Beach and Fr. David Raymond, co-officiants. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. In lieu of flowers donations in Ivey’s memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 3550 North Central Ave, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85012-2127. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
