SOUTHWEST HARBOR – James “Jimmy” B. Hamblen, 61, died Dec. 6, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 13, 1944, in Bar Harbor, the son of Dwight F. and Jean (Gordon) Hamblen. Jimmy was a Vietnam veteran in the 25th Infantry Division and he received a Bronze Star with the Valor Device. He was a member of the American Legion in Southwest Harbor. He worked for Gordon & White Ford Garage in Southwest Harbor for 25 years as a bookkeeper, service manager and all around man. Jimmy was employed at Morang-Robinson Ford Garage in Bar Harbor for 13 years and also worked for John Goodwin Jr. Construction Company for eight years, full time and many years part-time as bookkeeper. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda (Murphy) Hamblen of Southwest Harbor; two daughters, Kimberly Hamblen and Donald Parsons of Bar Harbor and Laura and husband, Daniel Burne, of Kennebunkport; one brother, William Hamblen and wife, Vicki, of Florida; mother-in-law, Eleanor Carter; sisters-in-law, Judy and husband, Bob Ames, Cyndi Litchfield and friend, Chet Lounder; grandchildren, Makayla, Marcus, Race and Marina Parsons, Molly and Lilian Burne; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dwight Hamblen Jr. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where services of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Friday.
