MEDDYBEMPS – J. Roberta Hatton Palmeter, 87, wife of the late Curtis I. Palmeter Sr., died June 17, 2004, in Pembroke as a result of an automobile accident. She was born April 29, 1917, in Charlotte, the daughter of Frederick and J. Dora (Moholland) Hatton. Roberta’s positive attitude was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Everyday friends and customers were greeted with a smile and a hug at Palmeter’s Store, which she owned and operated. She also enjoyed providing the flower arrangements for the Meddybemps Church each week. She is survived by one son, Curtis Jr. of Meddybemps; three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Betty) Ingersoll of Florida, Mrs. Theodore (Myrtle) Ackley of Meddybemps, and Ms. Maxine Palmeter of Meddybemps; a brother, Carroll Hatton of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Cathy Greutman, Cindy Dillard, and Faye Ingersoll, all of Florida, Maxine Hart of Georgia, Jean Voelker of Hampden, Troy Palmeter of Charlotte, and Jarrod Damon of Princeton; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Funeral services will be held Monday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dana Kadey officiating.
