LIMESTONE – Jacquelyn Sloan 73, wife of Albert Sloan died Jan. 19, 2004, at Portland. She was born March 13, 1930, in Houlton, the daughter of Charles Philip and Marguerite (Paul) Webb. She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School and attended Fisher College in Boston, Mass. Jackie was employed for more than 32 years at Loring Air Force Base, 20 of those years, serving as secretary to the Base Commander. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone, where she also taught catechism for a number of years. Mrs. Sloan was also active in the Limestone Women’s Civic Club, The Jaycees, as well as the local Girl Scout Troop. She married Albert Sloan in 1949. Surviving in addition to her husband of more than 54 years, Albert of Limestone, are her daughter, Patrice Leavitt and her husband, John, of Cumberland; three brothers, Ralph Webb and his wife, Evelyn, of Framingham, Mass., David Webb and his wife, Jackie, and George Webb, all of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sloan was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Philip and Gilbert “Ray” Webb. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Raymond officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the St. Louis Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute Jackie’s memory may do so through the Robert Frost Memorial Library Building Fund.
