LITCHFIELD, N.H. – James B. McCarron, 80, beloved husband of Julia K. (McCarthy) Mc-Carron, died Aug. 25, 2007. He was born Dec. 1, 1926, in Brewer, to Timothy R. McCarron and Mary E. (Long) McCarron. He married Julia K. McCarthy Nov. 15, 1947. Mr. McCarron graduated from John Bapst High School, Bangor, in 1947, where he was active in all sports. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944, was a veteran of World War II and served in Austria. He graduated from Mantor Hall Preparatory School, Cambridge, Mass., and Wentworth Institute in 1952. Mr. McCarron retired in 1992 from Silent Watchman and National Guardian as regional general manager for many years. While residing in Bill-erica, Mass., for 40 years, he was active as a Little League coach and officer, Pop Warner football coach and a member of the Billerica Knights of Columbus and the Irish American Club. In his youth, he was an avid baseball, basketball and football player. Mr. McCarron was a lifetime fan of the Boston Red Sox and was rewarded for his loyalty in 2004. He was also a long time fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics. His greatest pastimes were jogging, gardening and carpentry. Mr. McCarron was also a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Litchfield, N.H. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Julia; and children, Mary Ellen McCarron, Michael McCarron and wife, Vicki, Julie MacIntosh and husband, Edwin and Brian McCarron and wife, Gail; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, N.H. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Route 3A, Litchfield, N.H.
