MILLINOCKET – James C. “Jim” Brown, 61, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, in Millinocket. He was born Nov. 19, 1941, in Millinocket, the son of the late Everett and Isabelle (Montgomery) Brown. Jim was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1960. After his graduation from high school, he began his working career at Great Northern Paper Co. He first worked there as a papermaker and retired as a foreman in the finishing room after a total of 35 years. Jim was a sports fan who enjoyed all sorts of spectator sports, but his real passion for sport was Little League. His friends and family will long remember him for his strong support of the Millinocket Little League. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Joan A. (Collier) Brown of Millinocket; one son, Brian E. Brown of Millinocket; two daughters, Tracy Brown and her special friend, Rick Bond, of Manchester, N.H. and Michelle Cook and husband, Dennis, of Laconia, N.H.; two grandchildren, Ashley McDonough and Bradley Cook; a sister, Helen J. Shoup and her special friend, William Dwyer of Lynn, Mass.; a niece, Amy Shoup, and great-nephews, Eric, Michael and Christopher; he was predeceased by a nephew, Joseph Shoup. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at the R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Millinocket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Millinocket Little League, care of John Sears, 17 Forest Ave., Millinocket, ME 04462.
