CARMEL and CAMBRIDGE – James Donald Bailey, 84, died Oct. 7, 2005 at a Bangor Hospital. He was born May 10, 1921, in Parkman, a son of Ernest and Nina (Thurston) Bailey. Jim served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a tool and dye maker by trade having worked at Fay & Scott Machine Shop in Dexter, Thomas Machine in Bangor and retired from Sylvania Electric Products, also of Bangor. He was a member of the Harvest Grange in Carmel. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Pearl (Carle) Bailey, Oct. 19, 1992. He is survived by a daughter, Beverly Constantine of Carmel; three of eight siblings, Carlton “Stub” Bailey and Joyce Kimball, both of Cambridge and Dorothy “Dot” Mountain of Dexter; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family graveside services will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cambridge. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.
