PITTSFIELD – James D. Tweedie, 91, formerly of Harmony, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital, Pittsfield, after a short illness. He was born in Presque Isle, the son of Charles and Addie (Smart) Tweedie. He was an Eagle Scout and joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in 1930. He retired from Dow Badache, Williamsburg, Va., as a master machinist. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Newport News, Va. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Imogene Rose (Elkins) Tweedie in 1997. Survivors include, two loving daughters, Victoria (Tori) Hines of Dillsburg, Pa., and Rose Oliver of Anchorage, Alaska; and a son, Gene Tweedie of Starks. At James’ request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Shriners Children’s Hospital or your favorite charity. Arrangements are entrusted to D.H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield.
