PORTLAND – James Fowler, 51, passed away Aug. 10, 2007, surrounded by his loving family at Maine Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1956, in Waterville, the third son of Stanley and Marguerite Fowler. He graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1975 and was employed as an electrician at Bath Iron Works for the past 25 years. Jimmy was a man of great courage, as he waged several battles against declining health. He always managed to keep a smile on his face, and was an inspiration to all he met. Jim’s greatest love was spending time with his family at his parent’s camp on Lake Sebasticook, Newport. He enjoyed the great outdoors immensely. He is survived by his wife, Debra, who lovingly cared for him throughout the years; two sons, Martin “MJ” Fowler of Woburn, Mass., and Nathan Fowler of Windham; his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Bill and their spouses, Donna and Chris, all of Newport. Jim also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. There will be a celebration of Jim’s life 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Woodford’s Club, 179 Woodford St., Portland, and again 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Fowler’s on Lake Sebasticook, 38 Presley Lane, Newport.
