BROWNFIELD – James G. Shanks Sr., 63, of 5 Easy Ave. and formerly of Millinocket, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Millinocket, a son of Stuart and Alice (McLean) Shanks. He attended Millinocket schools, the University of Maine – Orono and Southern Maine Technical College. Mr. Shanks was employed as an engineer at Dearborn in Fryeburg, for 30 years, retiring last year. He was a member of Pythagorean Lodge of Masons, Fryeburg. As a young man, James was on the ski patrol at Sugarloaf and was an avid Patriots fan. He is survived by one son, James Jr. and his wife, Renee Shanks, of Brownfield; one sister, Ethel and her husband, Stan Doyle, of Millinocket; one granddaughter, Jaimelyne; and one grandson, Casey, both of Brownfield. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Bouchard-Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, with the Rev.
