PITTSFIELD – James “Jim” A. Twitchell, 64, peacefully passed away Monday, April 7, 2008, in Pittsfield. Jim was born May 8, 1943, in Hartland, the son of the late Porter and Beatrice E. (Davis) Twitchell. Jim attended Maine Central Institute, Pittsfield. He then joined the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Jim married Beatrice D. Lovejoy, June 17, 1967, in Pittsfield. They happily spent 37 years together raising their four children and in January 2005, Bea passed away. Jim worked for many years at Cianbro Corporation, where he traveled from here to New York and back again doing many different jobs over his years with the company. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Jim was a very fun loving man who enjoyed every minute that he spent with his family and especially loved family gatherings. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles and just getting out and going for rides and visiting anyone he knew along the way. He was a generous, kind hearted and loving man who with just a look could tell his children how he felt and they all knew. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren, brothers and all of his extended family and friends. He is survived by his loving four children, Roni Twitchell and her fiance, Warren LaPrell, of Palmyra, Kimberly Kirouac and her husband, Jason, of Liberty, Troy Twitchell and his wife, Melissa, of Hartland and Amy Havey and her husband, Michael, of Pittsfield; his grandchildren, Trevor Twitchell, Morgan Havey, Christina May, Ryan-Michael Havey and Nash Kirouac; two brothers, Gary Twitchell of Pittsfield and Barry Twitchell and his wife, Joan, of Brewer; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Rosalie Lovejoy of Pittsfield; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to the caring emergency room staff at Sebasticook Valley Hospital for all their kindness during this time. At the family’s request, the services will be private.
