BANGOR – James Wellington Strout, 82, died Feb. 17, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Eastport, the son of Jesse and Esther (Miller) Strout. Jim lived in New Hampshire from 1962 until he moved back to Maine in 1989, where he resided at Fairmont Boarding Home until 2002. He then moved in with his caregivers, Laurie and Tony Hall of Brewer, until his death. In addition to his caregivers, Jim is survived by Lori Nelson and his many friends at Fairmont Boarding Home; close friends, Shay and Paul. A special thanks to Andy and the staff of Winterport Family Medicine and St. Joseph Hospital for all the excellent care shown to Jim over the years. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, with the Rev. Wayne Walker officiating. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
