WALDO – Janice D. Curtis, 73, died June 14, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born April 28, 1934, in Jackson, the daughter of Raymond and Lurline (Hillman) Ward. Janice worked as a nurse for many years at Waldo County Hospital, Kno-Wal-Lin, Thayer Hospital, Waterville, and returned to Waldo County Hospital, until her retirement in 1996. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, camping and fishing. She loved her dogs and cats. She took a six-week driving trip to Alaska with her husband in 1986. She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Paul and Dale Ward. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Albert Curtis of Waldo; her son, Delmar R. and wife, Valerie Curtis, of Waldo; grandchildren, Kathleen Curtis and her fianc?, Tom Wolf, of Sears-mont, and Rick Knox and wife, Marilee, of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Robbie, Nicholas and Erin; special niece, Sharon Curtis; eight much-loved nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and great-nephews, and three great-great-nieces. Visiting hours will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where a service will be held 4 p.m. Those wishing to make donations may do so to Waldo County General Hospital, 116 Northport Ave., Belfast, ME 04915.
