BANGOR and LAMOINE Janina “Jina” Zulma Haslam, born Feb. 2, 1991, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, died June 20, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She succumbed from severe trauma after being hit by a car near her Lamoine home. Jina, a high honor student, had recently celebrated her 8th grade graduation from Lamoine Consolidated School, which she had attended since Kindergarten. This summer she was looking forward to again working at Seal Cove Goat Farm, Lamoine, where she has assisted since age of 8. She was to attend MDI High School. Her future plan was to be a veterinarian. She is survived by a very close-knit, loving family; her parents, Patti and Bob Haslam; brothers, Kyle and Ben; sister, Angela and good friend, Stu Wescott, of Bar Harbor; brother, Eric and his wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Aurora, of Lamoine; grandparents, Bill and Enid Neleski, of Lamoine, and Bob Haslam Sr. and wife, Rose, of Cherryfield; grandmother, Jean and husband, Mo Mones, of Port Orange, Fla.; great-grandmother, Janina Neleski, of Lamoine; uncle, Bill and wife, Laura, and cousins, William and Cooper Neleski, of Cumberland; aunt, Deborah Kane and special friend, Kevin Cobb, of Lamoine; cousin, Jennifer and Donny Dyer, and son, Austin, of Surry; uncle, James Haslam and wife, Mary, Hancock, and their children; godparents, Lisa and Stuart Branch; uncle, Paul Neleski and wife, Ruth, of Sorrento; and numerous Neleski family members. Also maternal aunts, uncles and cousins which include, Doreen and Russell Boynton and families, Evelyn and David Farrell and families, and Robert and Linda Madrell and families; and many paternal family members. A special friend, James Rafferty; special school friends; dog, Lucky; and rabbit, Skyler. Visiting hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth. A celebration of Jina’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Lamoine Consolidated School.
