FRENCHVILLE – Jean Paul Ouellette Sr., 84, began his 5th day Dec. 21, 2007, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born July 1, 1923, in Upper Frenchville, son of Joseph J. Ouellette and Marie Ouellette. He was in the C.C.’s, Bar Harbor, and served in World War II in the European theatre, especially in Belguim, where he met the love of his life, Odette. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post No. 145, 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 7920 and lifelong member of St. Luce Parish. He studied at Wagner School of Sign Paint-ing. Many of his signs can still seen in the St. John Valley. One of his earliest is still visible on the farm of David D. Daigle barn. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Odette Leclercq of Frenchville; four sons, Jean Paul Jr. of Frenchville, Father Richard Ouellette of St. Francis, Mike and his wife, Lynda and their children, Aaron, Christy, Anna and Adam of Frenchville and Guy and his wife, Francine and their children, Capt. Carissa, Guy Jr., Chantal and Aimee of Tolland, Conn.; one daughter, Monique and her husband, Joe Deschaine and their children, Mathew, Nathan, Stephanie, Michael and Joanathan of Dedham; two foster daughters, Lydia and her husband, Marvin Ring and family, Mynda, Marian and Marvin Jr. of Texas, and Rita and her husband, Reggie Thibeault and their children, Anthony and Shanon of Planes-ville, Conn.; several nieces and nephews; three sisters, Lucille Donato of Sierrra Vista, Ariz., Cecile Ouellette of Riverview, New Brunswick and Marie Bertha Roux of Nashua, N.H., and family. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Eucled, Wilfred and Antonio; and one sister, Therese. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Mich-aud Funeral Home, Frenchville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Valley Church, Frenchville, with the Rev. Richard Ouellette, the Rev. Phil Cyr and representing the Bishop of the Diocese of Portland, the Rev. Jean Paul Labrie. Burial at St. Luce Cemetery in the spring.
