WADE – Jennie A. Dow, 91, wife of the late Linwood Dow, died March 21, 2005, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Caswell, the daughter of Norman and Bertha (Sparks) McNeal. She was a member of the Dunntown Advent Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in many of the church’s activities. Because of her long time career as a nurse, Jennie was called upon many times by friends and neighbors who were in need of her medical skills. Her children and grandchildren were always the object of her love and devotion. Surviving her are sons and their wives, Norman and Josephine Dow of Orlando, Fla., and Dwayne and Lynn Dow of Wade; a daughter and her husband, Eloise and John Penny of Caribou; a daughter-in-law, Beth Dow of Washburn; a brother and his wife, Mickey and Donna McNeal of Wade; a sister, Laurine McNeal of Vernon, Conn.; sisters-in-law, Alberta McNeal of Eagle Lake, and Betty Dow of Gainsville, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and special friends, Judy Drost and Rosa Harris. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by sons, Travis Dow and Lloyd Dow; brothers, Harold McNeal, Floyd McNeal and Beecher McNeal. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church in Wade, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, with the Rev. George McLaughlin, officiating. A spring interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Perham.
