NORTHEAST HARBOR – Jennifer Lee Carter, 41, died Oct. 16, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born June 28, 1963, in Bar Harbor the daughter of Dwight B. and Alice G. (Murphy) Carter. Jennifer was a 1982 graduate of Mount Desert Island High School where she had been a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Sweetbriar College in Lynchburg, Va. graduating in 1986. Jennifer graduated in 1990, from Stetson Law School in Tampa, Fla. Jennifer worked in the Senate in Washington, D.C. at the appointment of Senator George Mitchell. She later did legal work for the Habitat for Humanity in the Miami, Fla. area. In 2002, Jennifer became an EMT for the Northeast Harbor Ambulance Service. She was currently serving as a trustee for the Union Church of Northeast Harbor. Jennifer is survived by her mother; a sister, Katrina L. Carter and husband, Mark L. Middleton; a brother, Lewis E. Moore, all of Northeast Harbor; and an uncle, Everett Carter and family. One of the greatest joys of Jennifer’s life was her special relationship with her nephews, Benjamin and Christopher Moore and Willie Granston. She was predeceased by her father Dwight B. Carter in April of 2001. Jennifer will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her effervescence, humor and sense of community. Friends are invited to call 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. Memorial Services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at the Union Church, Northeast Harbor with the Rev. William M. Bigelow Jr., presiding. Private Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Northeast Harbor.
