KNOX – Jessie M. Perkins, 77, died Nov. 22, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born July 18, 1930, on Head Harbor Island, the daughter of Herbert and Clara (Hadley) Alley. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion, Unity Post. She was an avid Beano player and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Jessie was very proud of completing her high school education in 1980 and got her certified nurses’ aide license in 1986. She will be remembered always for her wonderful cooking. She was predeceased by her husband, Linwood; two infant daughters; and a son, Randy. Jessie is survived by three sons and two daughters, Clarice and Randy Mallard of Shelbyville, Tenn., Linwood Perkins Jr. of Knox, Alonzo Perkins of Knox, Patricia and Cliff Larrabee of Swanville and Dana and Dena Perkins of Knox; four granddaughters, Stephanie Jones of Dickson, Tenn., Kristie Larbee of Swanville, Shawna and Emily of Knox; a brother, Frederick and Rita Alley of Knox; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bill and Elizabeth Fletcher of Thorndike. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday.
