BANGOR – Joan F. Hamlin, 74, died May 8, 2005, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born June 22, 1930, in Bangor, the daughter of Samuel and Mildred (Brooks) Libby. She was a very loving Mother and Grandmother and was known as an excellent seamstress. Joan was a member of the Twin-City Baptist Church of Brewer. She is survived by two sons, Jack Hamlin of Bangor, Scott Hamlin and his wife, Renee, of Dixmont; two daughters, Susan Bell of Veazie, Lori and her husband, Steven Hartery, of Bangor; one brother and his wife, Robert Libby and Dawn of Bangor; two sisters and their husbands, Barbara and Eldred Smith of Levant, Lillian and Donald Spencer of Bangor; five grandchildren, Eric, Samantha, Amy, Cheyenne, and Dakota. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Alice Bouchard. Services will be private for the family at a later date.
