HOULTON – Joan M. Tapley, 71, died Sept. 30, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 12, 1934, in Houlton, the daughter of Earl and Helen (York) McCluskey. Joan was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Her family and the church family were the greatest joys in her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gerald Tapley of Houlton; one son, Randy Tapley and his wife, Jane, of Houlton; four grandchildren, Randy Tapley Jr., Jared Tapley, Jenny Lawlor and Tara Lawlor; sister-in-law, Donna Parent and her husband, Herbert, of Houlton; nephews, Kevin Parent and his wife, Gina, of Houlton, Herbert Parent of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her son, Brian; and her daughter, Tammy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. V.R. Sixberry officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
