MATTAWAMKEAG – Ardella Taylor, 73, wife of Kenneth Taylor, died Oct. 1, 2005, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 7, 1931, in Mattawamkeag, the daughter of Roland and Constance (Trueworthy) Curtis. Ardella loved reading writing and cooking. She enjoyed going camping and fishing with Ken, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always had a positive outlook on things and had a great sense of humor. In addition to her husband, Kenneth; she is survived by five children, Connie Cullens and David of Enfield, Frank Welch of Chester, Mike Welch and Nancy of Virginia, Cathy Spaulding and Dick of Lincoln and Barbara Fontaine and Joe of Jackman; three stepchildren, Karen Morrison and Bob of Winn, Kelly Carle and Brian of Corinna and Kendra Cyr of Lewiston; a sister, Marcia McGowan of Lincoln; a brother, Mike Curtis and Judy of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Elinor Robertson; a stepson, Kevin Taylor; and a daughter, Bernice Welch. Private burial will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in her memory to the Mattawamkeag Public library.
