JOAN PRISCILLA (JOHNSON) SANDIDGE RICHMOND, Va. – Joan Priscilla (Johnson) Sandidge, 82, passed away July 18, 2007. She was the daughter of H. Burr and Florilla Johnson of Lincoln. Joan and Hill summered in the Boothbay Harbor region for more than 30 years. Joan was a graduate of Mattanawcook Academy, Lincoln and of Westhampton College, Richmond, Va. She was a direct descendent of Robert Cushman, “director” of the Mayflower immigrants for Plymouth, Mass. Joan was the 1978 Volunteer of the Year for the City of Richmond, Va. She was a member of the Mayflower Society of Virginia, the Richmond Area Mental Health Association, Memorial Foundation for Children Board, Pewter Club of America, Tuckahoe Women’s Club and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Helen; and brother, Robert. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, H. Hill Sandidge Jr.; and several nieces and nephews, including niece, Debra Johnson Haley. Donations may be made in Joan’s name to the Hermitage at Cedarfield, the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
