MILO – JoAnn Smart, 53, wife of Monte J. Smart, died April 28, 2008, at a Bangor hospital, after a courageous yearlong battle with lymphoma cancer. She was born Feb. 14, 1955, in Lincoln, the daughter of Joel and Laurette (King) Pelletier. JoAnn had worked at Dexter Shoe for many years, and then received her certified nurses aide certificate. She found great enjoyment and satisfaction in her work as a home health care nurse. JoAnn was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, nana, sister, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Barbara Pelletier; and a brother, Michael Pelletier. She leaves her husband, Monte J. Smart of Milo; three daughters, Melissa Harmon and her husband, Fred and their children, Katrina, Kaleb and Kelsey, of Corinth, Rebecca Lenfestey and her husband, Mike and their children, Mike, Bradley and Seth, of Frenchboro, and Laurette Lunt and her husband, Zach and their children, Cody, Dylan, Austin and Breanna, of Frenchboro; four sisters, Jeanette Morrill and husband, Timothy and their family, Marie Harmon and husband, William Sr. and their family, Linda Willette and husband, Mark and their family, and Susan Pelletier; three brothers, Joel Pelletier and wife, Lisa, and their family, Michael Pelletier and wife, Brenda, Richard “Dickie” Pelletier and his family; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be fondly remembered by many special friends. Friends are invited to visit with the family 10 a.m. until time of funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with the Rev. Lorna Grace Stuart officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery. After the burial all are invited to share fellowship and stories with the family at Brownville Junction Alumni Hall.
