SEARSPORT – Joanne E. Trefethen, 48, died peacefully July 26, 2004, at her home in Searsport, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 4, 1956, in Castine, the daughter of Kenneth S. and Patricia A (Hutchins) Flannery. She graduated from Searsport High School in 1974, and had been employed by Bluejacket Shipcrafters in Searsport, for 12 years as office manager. Joanne was an avid flower gardener and loved genealogy. She also enjoyed fishing for mackerel and stripers. She is survived by her parents, Kenneth S. and Patricia A. Flannery of Stockton Springs; her maternal grandmother and grandfather, Dorothy and Lewis Webster of Penobscot; three children, Jason D. Trefethen of Swanville, Jade A. Trefethen and her fianc?, Roger Tripp Jr., of Stockton Springs, and John D. Trefethen III of Bucksport; five grandsons, William Tripp, Joseph W. Tripp, John D. Trefethen IV, Derek A. Tripp and Dylan G. Tripp; four brothers, Kenneth P. Flannery of Searsport, Michael R. and his wife, Carol Flannery, of Belfast, Steven B. and his wife, Terri L. Flannery, of Northport, and Bradley S. and his wife, Wendy S. Flannery, of Hampden; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport, where the funeral will be held 10 a.m. Friday with the Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
