BANGOR – John Andrew “Jack” McClay Sr., 69, died Aug. 10, 2005, at his home in Bangor, surrou-nded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 2, 1936, in Brewer, the son of John Patrick and Gladys Hawkins (Rose) McClay. John was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1955, and served in the U.S. Marine Reserves. He was employed by the Bangor Drug Co., for 18 years and worked for 30 years for the City of Bangor, retiring as maintenance supervisor at the Bass Park Complex. Jack will be fondly remembered as a “Jack of all Trades” and was always willing to offer a helping hand. He is survived by his wife, Joyce C. (Page) McClay of Bangor; two children, Kimberly J. (McClay) Branscombe and her husband, John, of Brewer, and John Andrew McClay Jr. of Bangor; two grandsons, Seth C. Branscombe and Reed P. Branscombe, both of Brewer; his beloved dog, Coe-B; four sisters, Joan Allen and her husband, Don, of Bar Harbor, Mary Ellen Hayes and her husband, Jessie, of Bangor, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Barrett and her husband, Gary, of Manchester, Susan Hayes and her husband, Joe, of Brewer; one brother, Richard “Dick” McClay and his wife, Judy, of Bangor; several nieces, nephews, and one aunt. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio Street, Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor, celebrant.
