ALTON – John Paul McManus, 55, died Dec. 13, 2005, in Alton. He was born June 30, 1950, in Lewiston the son of Paul and Celia McManus. He attended the University of Miami and the University of Maine in Orono and used that knowledge throughout his life. He graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Waterville. He was a dedicated Police Officer of nearly 20 years. His hobbies involved metal detecting and helping others. He was a good friend to all he met and a helper to all men. People came to him for advice and help. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Celia McManus of Leeds; sisters, Kathy McManus of Hebron and Ann Lawrence of Sanford. He also leaves behind his ex-wife and friend, Suellen McManus; his daughter, Mandy Storman and her husband, Kirk Storman and granddaughters, Hannah and Natalie Storman; his son, Chuckie Good of Alaska and granddaughters, Ashlie, Crystal, and Gabby Good of Alaska. He also left behind his good friend, Eric Hutchin of Old Town and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at River of God Assembly, 911 West Old Town Rd., Alton. Spring interment will be at Leeds Center Cemetery.
