PRESQUE ISLE and HOULTON – John William Botting, 46, died unexpectedly Wednes-day, Feb. 7, 2007, at a Houlton hospital. He was born March 29, 1960, in Houlton, the son of John W. Botting Sr. and Joan (Rivard) Ricker. John attended high school in Houlton and received his GED. He enjoyed furniture upholstery, restoring antique furniture pieces and quilting. He had a great sense of humor, was an excellent cook and loved spending time fishing. John is survived by his mother of Mars Hill; his father of Haines City, Fla.; brother, Michael J. Botting and his wife, Christi, of Virginia Beach, Va.; his half brother, Andrew A. Ricker and his wife, Catherine, of Mars Hill; his half sister, Carrie A. Merrill and her husband, Christopher, of Standish; several aunts and uncles; three nieces, Ciara, Arianna and Audrey of Standish; his stepmother, Natalie of Haines City, Fla.; and a special friend, Courtney London of Houlton. A private funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill. A graveside service will held in the spring at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill.
