SOUTH PORTLAND – Jolene “Jody” Leighton Landry, died Feb. 18, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jody was born June 17, 1953, the daughter of Elden and Lois Jean Leighton (Moore) of Glenburn. Known for her loving ways and sparkling personality, Jody was always thinking of others and never missed an opportunity to make someone happy. She enjoyed a successful career in retail sales. She was the manager of Mrs. Fields Cookie Store at the Bangor Mall for many years and later worked as a field representative for Whitman’s Chocolates. Jody shared nearly 20 years with her devoted husband, Timothy Landry. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter whose greatest joy came from her family and friends. She and her husband loved entertaining at their ocean-side cottage in Boothbay Harbor. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her much loved daughter, Jennifer Fournier and her husband, Daniel and their children, Colby Daniel and Kendra Jolene Fournier of Manchester, N.H. Jody’s grandchildren were the light of her life and she was so pleased to be present when her granddaughter was born just three weeks ago. Jody will be sadly missed by her two stepchildren Jamie and Kathleen Landry and grandson, Ellis; her brother and sister-in-law, Cary and Dee Leighton, a very special niece and nephew, Ashley and Kyle Leighton, and her many friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her father, Elden Leighton and her brother, Ronald Leighton. A celebration of Jody’s life will be held on Sunday, May 30th at the most beautiful place on earth, her beloved Ocean Point. Donations in her name can be sent to The Maine Cancer Foundation, P.O.
