CARIBOU – Joseph A. “Junior” Michaud, 58, husband of Betty (Gagnon) Michaud, left us Jan. 6, 2007, with his wife at his side at his home, after a long battle with cancer. He served with the U.S. Army and was a disabled Vietnam veteran, and proud of it. Joseph was a carpenter in the local area for many years. He was a life member of the Lister-Knowlton Post No. 9389 VFW and was also a life member of the D.A.V. Junior was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to all his family. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Caribou; one son, Jay Michaud and his wife, Lisa, of Caribou; one daughter, Malena Felix and her husband, Roger, of Caribou; one brother, Joseph H. Michaud, and his wife, Amy, of Old Town; one sister, Verna Hewitt and her husband, Marc, of Old Town; four grand-children, Kayleigh, Corey, Ashley and Cody; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Neil and Shelly O’Rooke. He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Verna Michaud and Linda Byram. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with evening military services being held 6 p.m. by the officers and members of the VFW. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the chapel of Mockler Funeral Home. Spring interment will take place at the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou.
