HOULTON – Joseph Farwell Sr., 70, died March 4, 2007, at his home after a long illness. He was born Feb. 23, 1937, in South Portland, the son of Lorenzo and Marcia (Eaton) Farwell. He attended schools in Scarborough and two years of college. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1961, as a medic, serving most of his tour of duty in Europe and some in Great Falls, Mont. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jeanette (Whitney) Farwell of Houlton; three children, Ruth Sewall and her husband, Will, of Milford, Joseph and his wife, Lynn, of Bowdoin, and Ronald and his wife, Tammy, of Houlton; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Townsend of Buxton; a special brother-in-law, “Sparky” Walker; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. A special thanks to all the wonderful care and support from hospice. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Island Falls Cemetery.
