FORT FAIRFIELD – Joseph G. Plourde, 74, died Jan. 4, 2004, at his residence. He was born June 9, 1929, in Eagle Lake, the son of Ernest and Laura (Madore) Plourde. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Henry B. Pratt No.15 American Legion in Caribou. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was the cook at the hunting camps. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice (Hafford) Plourde of Presque Isle; his children, Guilford Plourde and his wife, Joyce, of Presque Isle, Nelson Plourde and his wife, Mary, of Austin, Texas, Rita “Anne” Rice and her husband, Bob, of Presque Isle, Randy Plourde and his wife, Colleen, of Easton, Raymond Plourde and his wife, Lisa, and Tammy Churchill, all of Presque Isle; stepchildren, Betty Hogue and her husband, Steven, of Perham, Clarence Hafford and his wife, Tanya, of Presque Isle, Philip Hafford and his wife, Wanda, of Bradley, Douglas Hafford and his wife, Paula, of Millinocket, Tammy Hafford of Caribou, John Hafford and his wife, Jessica, of Old Town, and Dana Michaud of Bradley; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, 17 stepgrandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Edford Joseph Plourde of Eagle Lake, Edward Plourde of Van Buren, Alphie Plourde of Enfield, Conn., Leo Plourde of Caribou, Ernest Plourde Jr. of Woodland; three sisters, Eva T. Post of Coventry, Conn., Edna Agnes Saucier of Presque Isle, Alice Anita Martin of Tolland, Conn. He was predeceased by two brothers, Camille Joseph Plourde of East Hampton, Conn., Rolland Plourde of Washburn; two sisters, Annie Laura Plourde and Annette Phoebe Plourde. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Thomas Blackstone officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 12 noon until time of service. Spring interment will be in Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.
