NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Joseph George Murray, 74, went to be with the Lord Aug. 29, 2007. He was born in New York City, to Joseph J. and Doris (Kirby) Murray. Joe was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War, and then began a distinguished career in aviation in 1956. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1987 after 31 years of service and culminated his career by winning the coveted Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award from the FAA in 2002. Survivors include wife, Martha Banton Murray; two daughters, Margo and Daren Holmes, and Paula and Kevin Turner; grandson, William J. Murray; great-granddaughter, Harley; stepdaughter, Kimberly and Will Lowe; and granddaughter, Addison. His zest for life and positive attitude will be remem-bered by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held 5:30 p.m. Sept. 5, at Alamoosook Lakeside Inn, Orland.
