FRENCHVILLE – Joseph Morneault, 100, passed away Nov. 25, 2006, in Madawaska. Joseph was born April 8, 1906, in St. Agatha, the son of Denis and Victoria (Clavette) Morneault. He lived at Ridgewood Estate for 10 years. The family moved to Frenchville when he was a young boy. He began work as a farmer, worked in the woods, did carpentry, became a fish peddler, and later became a butcher and owned his own country store for many years. His last employment was working for the St. Thomas Parish, Madawaska. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh. He had a positive attitude about life and people enjoyed visiting with him. His hobbies were gardening, fishing and dancing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and The Catholic Order of Foresters. He was predeceased by his wife, Laurie Roy; and his brothers and sisters; most recently, his son-in-law, Edward Beaulieu; and granddaugher-in-law, Jane Beaulieu. He is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Beaulieu of West Gardiner; granddaughter, Brenda Herbert and her husband, Robert, of St. Agatha; granddaughter, Doreen Brown and her husband, Ted, of West Gardiner; grandson, Darren Beaulieu of West Gardiner; six great-grandchildren, Brandon and Curtis Herbert, Lisa and Tanya Brown, and Paige and Allie Beaulieu; many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Valley Church, Frenchville, with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Interment will be at St. Luce Cemetery.
