BANGOR and HANCOCK POINT – Josephine Glenna Wibby, 94, died March 13, 2007, in Bar Harbor. She was born July 9, 1912, in Burlington, the daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Peasley) Prouty. Josephine graduated from Coburn C. Institute in Waterville. She married John H. Wibby, in 1932, and lived in Bangor for 35 years. She was a volunteer for 23 years at Eastern Maine Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital and during her retirement, moved to Hancock and was a volunteer at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and the Stanwood Bird Club, Ellsworth. Josephine was a member of the Norumbega Club, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Bangor Woman’s Chorus. She is survived by two sons, John H. Wibby Jr. of Yarmouth, and Dr. Wayne W. Wibby of Bangor; one daughter, Lynne W. Nelson of Portland, Ore., and Northeast Harbor; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
