CARIBOU and WOODLAND Paul E. Whitmore, 74, died March 13, 2007, in Caribou. He was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Colby and Helena (McQuade) Whitmore. Mr. Whitmore was a self-employed farmer and potato grower in the Fort Fairfield and Caribou areas for many years. He is survived by his wife, Aline (Edgecomb) Whitmore of Woodland; eight sons and two daughters-in-law, Mike Whitmore of Trenton, Jeff and Panda Whitmore of Woodland, Mark Whitmore of Caribou, Darrell and Tonya Drost of San Antonio, Scott Drost, Eddie Drost, and Andy Drost, all of Woodland; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammie Wheaton of Bangor, and Gail and Daryl Doughty of Fort Fairfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Bea McQuade of Lake Edward, New Brunswick, and David and Deanna Whitmore of Cross Lake; two sisters, Geraldine Dubay of Delevan, N.Y., and Betty Holdsworth of Caribou; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Whitmore was predeceased by a daughter, Paula; and three brothers, Robert, Gilbert and Norman. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, from the funeral home with Pastor Ron Rosser officiating. Interment will be at Greenridge Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Whitmore may do so through the charity of one’s choice.
