OLD TOWN – Joyce E. Harris, 70, died peacefully April 25, 2004, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Milford, the daughter of Elmer and Bernice (Reed) Harris. Joyce enjoyed gardening, and her cat, “Savannah.” She worked for H.M. Goldsmith for 35 years, and the Maine Coat Town for many years. Joyce volunteered her time to the Old Town Museum, Meals for ME, singing in the church choir, and working on the funeral luncheons at Holy Family Parish. Surviving are two brothers, Basil Harris and his wife, Cathy, of Florida, and Barry Harris and his wife, Deanna, of Orono; three sisters, Hilda Geroux and her husband, Frank, of Milford, Helen Curran and her husband, Bill, of Old Town, and Dawn Cyr and her husband, Peter, of Milford; 21 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; very special friend, Baycka Voronietsky. She was predeceased by her parents and five brothers. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, Old Town Chapel, 205 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Normand P. Richard, pastor, celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the Parish Hall immediately following the service. Interment will follow the reception in the Scott’s Corner Cemetery, Olamon.
