LEVANT – Joyce Laura (Ferguson) Brooker, 73, died unexpectedly March 11, 2006, at Villages Regional Hospital in Villages, Fla. She was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of the late Hollis Emery Ferguson Sr. and Maybelle Grace (Goodeil) Ferguson. Joyce was an active member in her community. She was a member of the Minerva Grange No. 383 where she was the community service director and one of the Floras, a member of the Levant History Club; was the president of the Levant Seniors and a member of the Harvest Chapel Church in Levant. Joyce was the loving mother of four daughters who survive her, Vicki Tozier and her husband, Terry, Paula Dowling and her husband, Robert, Debbie Sibley and her husband, Lawrence and Brenda Nelson and her husband, Richard Thibodeau; brother, Hollis Emery Ferguson Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Eastport; eight grandchildren, Troy Tozier, Robert Dowling Jr., Michele Landry, Steve Dowling, Todd Dowling and his wife, Chas, George Nelson and his wife, Jaime, Ricky Thibodeau III, Larry Sibley Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Labbe, Anthony Landry, Brittaney White, Joseph Landry, Alexis Dowling, Sarah Reynolds, Lucy Nelson; several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her many special friends, including Helga Walsh, Don Nuttall, Ernie Phillips, Helen Higgins, Sue and Jim Wallington and many more. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Terry George William Ferguson and Wayne Solomon Ferguson Jr. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 23, with Pastor Steven Hall, pastor of Harvest Chapel, Levant officiating. Spring interments will be held in Hillside Cemetery West, Eastport. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in celebration of Joyce’s life at the Minerva Grange No. 383, Levant, after the service.
