FORT FAIRFIELD – Judith Holt Boone, 74, died Thursday evening, March 16, 2006, at a Caribou healthcare facility, after a brief illness. She was born March 6, 1932, at Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Thurber E. and Henrietta V. (Bishop) Holt. Judith attended Fort Fairfield elementary schools and was a high school graduate of the Dana Hall Academy, Boston, Mass. Judith enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage and was an avid reader and traveler, and will be remembered as a great cook. In addition to her parents, Judith was predeceased by her husband, Roy G. Boone in 2003; one brother, Thurber E. Holt Jr.; one sister, Louise McGee; and many special friends. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Beth Boone of Caribou; one daughter, Elizabeth Boone-Coville and son-in law, Patrick Coville, both of Houlton; four grandchildren, Catherine, Daniel, Michael and Meg; several nieces and nephews; and dear companion, Harold Melkonian of Warwick, R.I. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Monday, March 20, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m., with the Rev. John Jennings officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to share continued fellowship and refreshments at Judith’s home, 15 Fisher St., Fort Fairfield, immediately following the funeral service. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Judith to the American Lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330.
